A project for the protection of the Sicilian black bee species, supporting university studies and research aimed at health and wellbeing.

An initiative part of Tennis on the Racetrack, offering its Partners and Brand Sponsors of the event the opportunity to support an ethical cause.

The term Environmental Sustainability was initially used in 1992, during the first UN Conference on the environment, to indicate a development model to meet the requirements of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It has undergone a gradual evolution over the years, acquiring a wider meaning, placing the environment in relation to economy and society.

Environmental Sustainability is also currently considered an essential starting point as a new approach to business.  Increasingly, it is an integral and decisive part of the strategy of many companies; a precise commitment to respect the environment, which manufacturers, throughout the industrial sector, take into account.

The principles and values that distinguish Tennis on the Racetrack have deep roots based on the importance of the green issue, with a view to corporate social sustainability and aimed at improving internal working conditions as a community development.

The green component is the basis of the Invitational Tournament. It is part of a zero-impact initiative for the area, providing sustainable content in a location that, with this event, can now be positively associated with green issues, as well providing interesting opportunities for local companies.

Sponsors participating in the initiative will be able to associate their own Brand with that of Tennis on the Racetrack and Black Bees Matter, supporting a cause with a high ethical value. Responsible actions combined with social commitment are fundamental in terms of the dignity of the Brand – if it is healthy and has ethical principles, it has value.

TENNIS ON THE RACETRACK, BLACK BEES MATTER, BEES AND RESEARCH

Black Bees Matter is an ethical cause for the protection of the Sicilian black bee, a species that risks extinction in the near future, but which has survived so far and because of its history, represents salvation and has become a symbol of excellence and ‘nature to be protected’.

Black Bees Matter is a project that supports university studies and research aimed at health and wellbeing. It is useful for identifying and enhancing the benefits derived from hive products and the use in healthcare of derivatives that, according to some studies, contribute to the well-being of people suffering from certain illnesses.

A storytelling path is expected through which to narrate and show the actions carried out by this incredible species of bees, thanks to a communication plan, with cross communication actions, for the benefit of all the Brands involved, whether they are Partners or Sponsor companies.

At the outset of sponsorship of the project, Brand Sponsors of the event will receive a quantity of honey, valued at approximately 1% of the investment made by the Sponsor. By supporting the Black Bees Matter project and thus embracing a noble cause to protect bees, the Sponsors will receive the precious honey they produce as a gift.
